India to get the main cluster of five Rafale planes from France on Wednesday; to be positioned at Ambala base

Authorities said the planes are probably going to be sent in Ladakh division as a feature of IAF's endeavors to upgrade its operational capacities along LAC with China.


The main clump of five Rafale planes on Monday took off from France for India, authorities said.

The multi-job contender airplane is booked to show up at Ambala aviation based armed forces station on Wednesday, almost four years after India consented to a between administrative arrangement with France to get 36 Rafale planes for the Indian Air Force under a Rs 59,000-crore bargain.

Indian Ambassador to France Jawed Ashraf cooperated with IAF pilots before they took off from France.

The primary unit of the Rafale planes will be positioned at the Ambala airbase.

Out of the 36 Rafale planes, 30 will be contender planes and six will be mentors. The coach planes will be twin-seater and they will have practically all the highlights of the warrior planes.
